Deism

Lord Herbert of Cherbury first opposed the beliefe of deism. Deism is the belief that a supreme God lives, untouchable. Deists believe that there is a god of nature, who permits the universe to run itself according to natural laws. Some deists believe in Jesus Christ, but some do not. Most deists give regard to the moral teachings of Jesus, but don't think of it as their God. They deny the credibility of any writings from the Apostles or any “Spirit-inspired” writings and reject revelations and visions. Deism has no need for ministers, priests, or rabbis. All a deist requires is his/her own common sense and the ability to contemplate their human condition.

After Math

It's not your fault, I just don't feel the same way. I have so many thoughts, But not much to say. I can't explain it. I'm lost in thought. My love is gained. I can't be bought. I'd prefer no fight. Just let me go. I don't feel the same, But why, I don't even know. I can't explain. I don't know how. It's not like I hate you. I'm not leaving you now. I promised I'll be there Forever, until the end. When I promise, I'll keep it. You're always my friend. This isn't goodbye. I'm not leaving for good. I don't feel like you do. I don't think I should.

A Change of Heart

Things have changed,
But that's not how it seems.
I'm losing sight of reality,
And living in my dreams.

Nothing is ever planned.
It just falls into place.
Every thought I have,
I see this face.

This one face.
This one I do not know.
He haunts my dreams,
Never letting my thoughts go.

I sit and muse
On the things to come.
I wonder who this is,
The haunting one.

After the night,
When morning is soon to come,
I listen to my heart,
And I've been the one on the run.

My heart has changed.
I'm not the same.
You're not the one
That needs to change.

Founders and/or Prominent Leaders of the Thirteen original Colonies.

We're supposed to be writing something about these guys:
Thomas Hooker and Roger Williams.

-Thomas Hooker was the best-known pioneers of Connecticut. He was born in rural Marefield, Leicestershire. He was appointed the first pastor of the church at Newtown, Massachusetts (now Cambridge). He is attributed as being the first minister of the First Parish in Cambridge. The church still exists today.

-Roger Williams came to Massachusetts in 1631 as a separate congregationalist. He disagreed with the leaders of the Bay Colony on several matters: 1. While Puritans remained a part of the church of England, Williams contended that they should completely separate themselves from it. 2. He insisted that church officers should not interfere in civil matters and that civil officers should not attempt to enforce church policies. 3. He criticized the Puritans for taking land that rightly belonged to the Indians. His reputation of integrity as a minister could not be questioned. even his staunchest opponent, John Winthrop, called him "a godly minister."
